Searching books on Ahrntal legends...

Will

Hello everybody!!!

I write you from Italy and unfortunately I have to write in English because I do not know German well, but I'm studying this language... Excuse me!
In addition to being a big fan of traditional legends and modern, I'm a great lover of our mountains, the Alps and especially Val Gardena (Gröden), Val di Fassa (Fassatal) and Valle Aurina (Ahrntal)!
So my questions are the follows: there are books (also in German) where I could find the legends of these valleys? I'd like to know if there are also volumes (also old and out of print, or those old books of the early nineteenth century, which are found only in antique shops) that only applies to the legends of the Ahrntal, where I go since 5 consecutive years!

Thank you in advance!

Dear Will,

there are a lot of Ahrntal legends, but most of them separated in periodicals for different interest like mining, climbing, farming etc.

You should get into contact with Konrad Steger, he is a very kind person and teacher in the Ahrntal. Konrad Steger collects legends and narrations from the Ahrntal for many years. I think he wrote me an email recently that he also published a book on Ahrntal-legends meanwhile.

Konrad Steger has a very nice collection on the net:

Konrad´s Ahrntalseiten

You can also find there a lot of Ahrntal-history, ancient customs, butterflies, photos, humor and of course Konrad's email.

There also exist good books on the history of mining in the Ahrntal. I will try to find some elder publications in periodicals later.

I just saw your problem, that the email published by Konrad Steger isn't working any more.

I will send you a "Private Message" here with the actual email from Konrad Steger ;)

Brau thanks... but also the mail in "impressum" dosen't work! :(

Mr. Steger seems not to be found ... Not even this other mail works! How is it possible?!
